I made it to Parson’s Mountain on my third try for this loop just outside of Abbeville, South Carolina, and enjoyed the 4-mile hike in late spring.

Blue Hole Falls was more of an adventure than I expected, but it’s a rather pretty waterfall.

It was a good day in the Fant’s Grove Wilderness to watch one’s feet, but make sure to be wearing a good pair of boots.

I spent a frigid, icy morning on the Tamassee Knob trail in Oconee State Park in upstate South Carolina and the view from the top is amazing.

Amicalola Falls is a very tall cascade in northern Georgia, and my brother and I got a view from the top, not by the trails, because I got us lost, but by the convenient observation deck we could drive to.
